Does The Paslin Company have checking fixture capabilities or an established relationship with a capable checking fixture company?

Paslin has a checking fixture design group located at our engineering facility on Ten Mile Road in Warren. With the addition of this group, Paslin has complete turn-key checking fixture design and build capabilities. In fact, Paslin has recently completed the checking fixture design and build for a large General Motors program.

Does The Paslin Company have experience on simultaneous engineering projects including product engineering?

The Paslin Company has a great deal of experience on simultaneous engineering projects including full capability studies, kirksite dies to production process intent, design & build of system automation, detail and assembly checking fixtures and CMM inspection programming. For example, Paslin was the prime contractor for the DaimlerChrysler "PL" body style (Neon) cross member. Our responsibilities began 130 weeks before job one and our contract mandated running 300 prototype cross members at 1.67 Ppk in cycle time before shipment of the system to the end user. Product design input from Paslin resulted in changes to several parts during our participation in the DFMA.

Other simultaneous engineering activities, including bodyside aperture systems, have been awarded to Paslin with our responsibilities ranging from 30 weeks before pilot build to launch of production and support. During our simultaneous engineering projects we contribute in DFMA, FMEA teams, variation reduction teams, variation simulation studies, and process improvement.

What level of technical assistance does The Paslin Company provide at the plant site?

Our ability to provide technical assistance at the plant site is proven by awards received for our participation and commitment to variation reduction teams, process and productivity improvement teams and our understanding of BIW manufacturing. The Paslin Company can provide expertise in robot programming, PLC programming and debug, along with areas of electrical and tooling build up. Programming for the optimization of cycle time, ergonomic studies, part flow and process balancing is planned and executed from the onset of a project through completion.

What is the size and expertise of The Paslin Company's installation staff?

Approximately 40-50 technicians are available for activities ranging from installation supervision to start-up assistance. Our expertise in robot programming, tooling, electrical, PLC programming, project installation management and coordination with outside suppliers compliments our training programs for operation and maintenance of the Paslin built systems.

How many installations can The Paslin Company support in parallel at different locations?

Depending on the size of the project and our contractual obligation to each project, the Paslin Company can support between 4-6 major installations; and 8-10 minor installations, where some technical assistance and training is required.

What CAD systems can Paslin Engineering utilize for tooling design?

Paslin Engineering has the capability to design in AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, Unigraphics, and Catia.

Does Paslin Engineering utilize simulation software?

Paslin Engineering utilizes a variety of simulation tools. Our unique approach to simulation has helped us to gain an important competitive advantage. To perform detailed cell level simulation we utilize Delmia simulation software. For plant level simulation Automod or Simul8 are used.
